Boundless Greed Flows at American-Water!
American Water is demanding huge rate hikes from consumers and steep concessions from hourly employees who deliver clean and reliable water to our communities every day. Meanwhile, the Company is collecting big profits from ratepayers and doling out lucrative pay packages to top executives. At the National bargaining table, American-water is demanding painful takeaways from workers, including a 52% hike in the amounts employees would be required to pay for health coverage for their families, while gutting the plan coverage at the same time. In October 2010, Union members across the Country voted by nearly a nearly 90% margin to reject the Company's concession demands! At the Local bargaining table, the Company is proposing some of the lowest wage increases in decades, while insisting that they need the ability to contract out Bargaining Unit work at will. Water is a precious resource, and one we can't live without. Well qualified, trained, courtous, and safe employees should be the ones handling our drinking water; not "Chuck in a Truck".
